Overview |
Scotland is simply paradise on earth for golfers. The historic importance of Scotland to the game, the splendor of the old course, the tradition and unique role that golf plays in Scottish life all join to make this country a golfer's heaven.
Scotland, the birthplace of golf, has more than 300 golf courses to offer, including the most famous course of all, Saint Andrew's, a golf Mecca, so to speak. However there are many other challenging golf courses and golf resorts to experience.
It was here that golf history began 500 years ago and golf is very much a way of life in Scotland.
Newly built golf courses are set along side of old ones and, in some cases, even the newly designed courses are actually quite old.
Golf resorts are just as old as golf itself in this country and a visit to Scotland is not complete without a relaxing stay and a round of golf in one of the county's fine golf resorts.
